Karyotyping  The karyotying facility at CCMB was set up to carry out genetic diagnosis at the chromosomal level. The key activities include analysis of genetical diseases at chromosomal level done from blood in case of prenatal diagnosis or using the aborted feotus. This is done to analyse reasons for cancer, whether it is hereditary or sporadic. THe techniques adopted to do this analysis is G-banding - it the most advanced technique available today and is flourensence or multiflourensence based . The lab is equipped with highly advanced and automated Karyotying equipment.
