Hyderabad, 18th December, 2025: CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and the Proteomics Society, India hosted the 17th Annual Conference of the Society, themed “Proteomics and Metabolomics: Innovation, Applications, and Impact” at CCMB. This year’s scientific program was curated to encompass a broad array of topics, including proteomics and metabolomics in cell biology, disease mechanisms, immunity, and their pharmaceutical, clinical, and agricultural applications. The conference convened established and emerging scientists, research scholars, and industry leaders from across the country to discuss the progress in the field.

In addition to the main conference, an “Education Day” was held on 17th December 2025 for research scholars. This offered comprehensive instruction in foundational and advanced proteomics, metabolomics, and allied research methodologies by leading experts.

Recent years have witnessed transformative progress in the fields of proteomics and metabolomics. The advent of high-resolution mass spectrometry, sophisticated bioinformatics, and integrative multi-omics approaches have enabled unprecedented depth in the analysis of cellular processes and disease pathways. These technological advancements have accelerated biomarker discovery, enhanced our understanding of complex biological systems, and propelled innovations in personalized medicine, agriculture, and environmental science.

“The rapid evolution of these disciplines continues to expand their impact, fostering new collaborations and driving scientific breakthroughs. And a national conference like this catalyzes exchange of innovative ideas, knowledge, and resources, thereby advancing the frontiers of proteomics and metabolomics in India,” said Dr Swasti Raychaudhuri, Senior Principal Scientist at CCMB and a lead organizer of the conference.
